We don’t normally troubleshoot VMs as they sometimes have their own settings which may cause issues with Roon, but what I would suggest for you is to look over the following thread to see if this helps:

@noris thanks for the reply, but please note that I have created a new VM using Ubuntu, so while the original install using Tiny Core Linux is very container like, Ubuntu certainly isn’t. I have a fixed MAC address, as I use DHCP and want the RoonServer to have a consistent IP address, so a fixed MAC address is important.
