Roon adds Salt’N’Pepa tracks to Tidal playlist queue (ref#Y2L270)

What’s happening?

· I don't like how the product works

Describe the issue

I use roon to play a playlist I maintain in tidal. It has 900+ tracks. Periodically roon adds 900 songs from rap artists Salt’N’Pepa into the queue interspersed with the songs from my playlist.

This is not relevant

Something definitely wrong there. That is not how Roon works normally.

Roon definitely overdoing it on the seasoning there :salt:

Did you ever play SnP at all? I’m asking because there is a known bug in the current release version of Roon, where Roon adds stuff to the queue - but as far as I have seen, it’s tracks from the history of older, previously cleared queues. However, I have not seen it add anything totally random. Maybe check if this might be applicable, see below.

Roon is working on a fix for this that will hopefully be deployed in an update next week.

There is discussion of the problem in the below linked thread in Early Access. To avoid confusion, the thread starts with the discussion of the problem in the previous Early Access test version (build 1478), which was then, unfortunately, released into production as build 1480 (what you probably have). Then the thread continues to testing the fix in a new Early Access update (1484) which will probably be moved to production next week.

No, I don’t typically play any rap. So they aren’t on any of my playlists. That bug might explain the repeat of SaltnPepa though.

Hi @Burke_Treidler,
Thanks for the report of this. I agree with the others that this seems like another case of the bug we are tracking with the current version. A fix for this should be released soon. Thank you in advance for your patience while we resolve this.

The fix is available now in a production update, hopefully it will help you, too:
