I am getting an error message on 2 of my 3 Amazon Fire Tablets as follows with the Roon app:

Roon Unavailable
This app was built on an older version of Fire OS and will not work properly until it's updated to the new version. We have notified the developer and will provide the updated app when a new version is available. In the interim, you can view additional apps you may be interested in here.

A few additional details - these two tablets do NOT work (they get above error message):

  1. Fire HD 10 Plus tablet (2021 release)
  2. Fire HD 8 Tablet 8" (Previous Generation - 8th)

This tablet works fine:

-Fire HD 8 Plus tablet, 8” (2022 release)

Could you kindly confirm the firmware version of both devices where you’re encountering the error? Additionally, please let us know how you installed the Roon app on each device — for example, through the Google Play Store, Amazon App Store, sideloading the APK, or another method.

This information will help us better understand the issue and guide you accordingly.

Hi - please see below:

  1. Fire HD 10 Plus tablet (2021 release - 11th generation)
    fire os 7.3.3.1
    build number: 0031575862404
    ***NOTE: This one now works! When I was checking System Updates, there was one waiting. So I installed it and now Roon opens Fine! So it’s just the one tablet below now that still doesn’t work.

  2. Fire HD 8 Tablet 8" (Previous Generation - 8th)
    fire os 7.3.3.1
    build number: 0031575862404
    ***no system updates to install - so still a problem

I install the Roon app via the Amazon App Store. Thanks.

I have the same issue. Same model HD10.

Same for me on Fire 7 tablets. Seems like the most recent Roon update rendered them incompatible. At least it still works on my iOS.

Same issue here, can’t open Roon and same error message shown above.

Probably loaded the app thru Amazon…
