After clicking roon app, it doesn't start. Only Roon logo is displayed. It happened since the update all last weekend.
Describe your network setup
LAN Network Roon Nucleus, Iphone, Macbook Sonoma. Remotes also LAN wired connected. Updated to latest software versions, restarted everything, even with power disconnected, nothing seems to help. Firewall in Mac is set to off. Router does have fixed firewall, but worked several years flawlessly with roon. Only this update ruined something. I don't know. I did´nt change anything else. Nucleus web page shows all statuses are OK. I can see Nucleus is connected with Router and is shown. Please help.
Please describe your network topology in a little more detail, including any managed switches and other hardware.
If you have an HDMI cable, please connect the Nucleus directly to the HDMI input of a monitor. This will output a hardware diagnostic report - please share a photo here. Thanks!
Hi Connor, thanks for your reply,
I have a Telekom Speedport Router W724V type A. All connections are via wired LAN. I tested wired connection both with and without switch Silent Angel Bonn N8 (direct in Router), no difference. It always has functioned perfect with switch. Again, I made no changes to my network.
I only did the “update all”. Since then, it stopped working.
No VPN, firewall on Mac inactive, only thing is that my Router has a build in firewall which I cannot turn off.
The Network is showing the Nucleus and I can access it via the internal Web page. All parameters are OK.
Nucleus Storage can be accessed normally and is showing ripped CD´s.
By the way, I also checked if my account was accessible. It is and I can also make my Macbook temporarily function as core. (Which I don´t want) But I want my Nucleus to function as core.
As soon as I click the connect button from the Nucleus core, it freezes to the Roon logo.
I connected a monitor to the HDMI output. Ande there are no error messages, just a black screen with serial number host name etc. look normal to me.
I hope this will help . Thanks in advance!
Thanks for those additional details. We enabled diagnostics mode for your account and it looks like your Nucleus Operating System drive has started to show signs of hardware failure, we suggest replacing this drive as soon as possible.
How long ago did you purchase the Nucleus, was it over 2 years ago? If it was, the the Nucleus warranty expired, and we can either proceed with an out-of-warranty RMA case, or you can replace the drive yourself. If you wish to replace the drive yourself please see the below instructions.
The first thing you’ll want to do is purchase a new SSD. Here is a link to one SSD option we recommend to many users:
