Hi @doug_a,

Check out this page from the Roon’s Help site …

Hope it helps you to resolve this issue, if not Roon’s support team will be along to help.

Thanks, Carl. I tried all of these things before I filed the ticket. I think it’s something else.

I appreciate the help, though.

Hi @doug_a,

Thanks for the additional details.

We’ve reviewed the diagnostic data on our side, and we’re seeing repeated 401 / 403 responses from Roon cloud services (including metadata and authentication endpoints). When this happens, background services like metadata updates can get stuck retrying, which results in the endless spinning icon you’re seeing in the top-right corner.

This typically points to an authentication/session state issue rather than Metadata Improver itself.

As a next step, please try the following:

  1. Go to Settings → General → Logout.
  2. Restart the Mac.
  3. Relaunch Roon and sign out of your Roon account when prompted.
  4. Launch Roon again and sign back in with your Roon account credentials.

Once re-authenticated, the background services should re-establish clean sessions and the spinning indicator should clear within a few minutes.

If the issue persists after re-logging in, let us know and we’ll continue investigating from our side.

That did it. Thanks!
