· my Roon app on my mac is unable to search or connect to Tidal (I can successfully be redirected to Tidal and sign in but when redirected back to Roon the Tidal connection times out. Roon is approved in Mac OS Firewall for incoming connections (though there is only 1 firewall entry). Was working until a few days ago. Also Roon appears twice in Local Disk access. Have toggled on and off, but to no success. Also cleared Roon app and Roon server cache files. Given search times out this would seem to be a network issue. How to diagnose....? Thanks Mark

Thank you for your post and we’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing some frustrating network problems.
Logs show it’s not isolated to Tidal’s API; Roon is timing out when it requests unrelated metadata from Roon cloud services as well. RoonServer is having a difficult time reaching the internet.
For due diligence, is this Mac connected via Ethernet, or WiFi? Our diagnostic servers seem to see both network intefaces connected, and if Roon is relying on the WiFi through the mesh network, there might some latency. Try disabling the WiFi to force it to rely on the more reliable network interface.
I also recommend ensuring a reliable DNS service is assigned in the Deco router. Here’s a guide outlining the specifics. We find that Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) is more reliable than the ISP default service most of the time.
Also, try disabling adblockers in your browser temporarily.
Are you able to sign into the Tidal app or web player directly outside of Roon?
Conor, Tidal and Search are now working again! As I had done several times before, I disabled and reengaged settings/Local Network access for the two 2 Roon entries (not sure why there are two (linked) Roon entries as well as RoonServer.) Then I rebooted my Mac, restarted Roon (and RoonServer) and finally tried using Firefox to authenticate the roon app rather than Safari and it worked! I had done all of that earlier, including deleting Roon& RoonServer library caches to no avail, but this time it worked!
It seems puzzling that ARC was able to find an external connection to RoonServer while search and Tidal were not accessible. I did start using fibre to a new ISP (Eircom/GOMO in Ireland) last week, though the browser connection has been solid at 500Mbits, so perhaps that has something to do with it. Anyway all’s well that ends well. Back to the music! Thanks for your help. Mark
