Number of Tracks in Library
n.a.
Description of Issue
I’ve been running Roon on my Win11 laptop, connecting via bluetooth to an Avantree receiver thingy that is connected to an amp via optical. Just so I can play music in the kitchen.
Today, Roon doesn’t recognize the Avantree anymore (it is connected and working, I checked with YouTube) and is stuck on a loop saying “adding 10 tracks, 10 added, 0 identified” and saying it has “trouble connecting to our servers”.
I can’t seem to be able to kill this process. If I close Roon and restart it, it immediately starts with the same thing.
In my living room the same thing is happening (makes sense) but at least Roon still sees the audio zone there and is working normally.
Perhaps these are two unrelated issues, but how do I unstuck Roon from this loop?
I tried rebooting the Nucleus, but again, it remains stuck on '10 tracks…etc". Funny thing is, I didn’t add any tracks or albums to my library lately.
UPDATE: the loop is gone, all of a sudden!
So now the only remaining issue is why Roon no longer sees the Avantree as an audio zone, which it did perfectly well untill today…
What you should do is check that raatserver.exe is being allowed through the Windows Firewall (or the Firewall software that you have installed on your PC).
I’ve checked the firewall and Malware and all Roon apps are allowed.
Also, on my Android phone, Roon does recognise the Avantree USB gadget.
Because the problem only cropped up now that I have a new ISP, I feel that may have something to do with it, though I can’t think why as every other Roon-related device works just fine. Is there any setting in the Nucleus I should change? Or in my Nokia SX router?
Summing up the enigma: Win11 sees the Avantree and plays sound to it, except from Roon.
Roon plays sound from an Android phone to the Avantree, but not from Win11.
I’m therefore assuming that the problerm lies with the Windows Roon app.
I don’t have any Windows devices so I don’t know how Windows and Roon on Windows is treating bluetooth audio.
On Mac it seems that I can play to bluetooth only by first enabling the bluetooth audio on OS level, and then selecting the system output from within Roon. My actual bluetooth audio device is therefore not visible.
I’m afraid something similar doesn’t show up in the Win-app. Bluetooth is enabled on the Windows level, as I can play music from YouTube over this same Bluetooth connection. And I can use it from the Android app, so at least I have a practical solution, but I’d love to know what’s going on with Win11.
Like I said, the only change was a new ISP, but I don’t see how that could interfere, since all roon-related things work, as does RoonArc, from all other devices.
