Hello @Gary_Cross

We’ve discussed this with our senior QA and development teams. The team is investigating some possibilities here and, as soon as that investigation is complete, we’ll be sure to follow up ASAP.

You have our apologies for the trouble here, and we’ve greatly appreciated your patience as we continue investigating this tricky issue. We’ll be in touch as soon as we can.

Hi @Gary_Cross,

A quick clarification: does this issue reproduce for you in both landscape and portrait mode on the iPad?

Yes it does
For clarification I am using a 12.9 inch iPad Pro 3rd Generation running iPad os 26.2.1

Hello @Gary_Cross

Would be great to hear the reply to the @connor question above

Hi @Gary_Cross,

Thanks for your patience so far. While it sounds like a pedantic detail, our development team really does need this particular information in order to take this case forward:

We’ll watch closely for your response. Thank you!

Hi @Gary_Cross,

I wanted to provide you with an update on our investigation.

Our QA team has been reviewing the video you provided and has attempted to reproduce this behavior on several different iPad models running the same iPadOS version. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to replicate the issue on our end yet—the “X” continues to function normally in our tests.

Because we cannot consistently reproduce the bug, it is difficult to implement a definitive fix immediately. We are keeping this investigation open and monitoring for additional reports that might help us pinpoint a specific trigger. As soon as we have a breakthrough or more information from our development team, we’ll be sure to reach out.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through this tricky UI issue.
