Roon application stuck on loading logo (ref#9WW84B)

Interface & Usability

Description of Issue

My Windows 11 computer had been running fine as my Roon core. It’s possible a recent update changed something, because now the Roon application will only “open” and show the loading logo but never actually enter the application. I have checked my firewall exceptions for all .exes, which have not changed, and it seems everything should be working…

Roon Server Platform

Windows

Roon Server Specifications

Intel processor, Nvidia RTX3070, 64gb ram, Audient interface, SSD system drive.

Connected Audio Devices

Audient iD14 via USB-B on core computer, Cambridge 851N upstairs, (also lost ability to use my Primare NP5 (1st gen), but that’s a separate issue.

Home Network Details

Ethernet through Netgear modem to a 4-port switch. No network changes since it was working (worked flawlessly for a long time)

Hi @Jay_Berget ,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about the issues you are facing. Can you please confirm, do you see RoonServer as running in the taskbar, and does the status show as running? Can you access your manual Roon + RoonServer logs by using these instructions and upload them here? Please send both Roon and RoonServer logs so that we can try to determine the failure cause. Thanks!

Hello, yes, the Roon Server is in the taskbar and status is “running”. I uploaded my log files to the server. Thanks for your help!

Hi @Jay_Berget,

As a next step in troubleshooting, let’s refresh your Roon Server database. Make sure you have an available backup before making any changes:

  • Create a Backup of your current database (or if you have an existing backup, skip this)
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
