Roon ARC app on iPhone shows incorrect download warning (ref#FTLBWK)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

· When I try to sign in to my Roon arc app on my iPhone, the screen says, “Make sure you downloaded this app from Roon.”
I’m pretty sure I downloaded it from the Apple App Store, not from Roon. Furthermore, it says to delete the app if I can’t confirm I downloaded it from Roon. When I try to download from Roon, it takes me to the App Store. I’m confused.

It just says that you should be sure. If you’re sure, ignore it. The Roon Labs account on the App Store is fine, too, of course.

It’s just trying to tell you that you shouldn’t install it from unknown third-party sources.

Thanks! That seems to make sense. Too bad Roon doesn’t make it clear the app can be downloaded from the App Store, especially when I can’t find anyplace to download it from Roon directly.

To understand why this is there, by the way, it may help to consider that in some regions Apple has been forced to allow third-party app stores, e.g., in the EU. (And on Android they exist anyway, of course, along with the option to download and install apps from anywhere)

Well, on the general Roon download page,

and further down,

Plus of course the links take you … to the app store.
