Roon ARC app unable to connect to Roon Server despite setup indication (ref#LA16XP)

Network Setup

· I use my ISP's router alongside a personal router.

ARC Status

· ARC is *Ready*

Describe the issue

When I look into Roon set up, the testing mentioned my Roon server is ready to be connected by Roon ARC. But when I try to use Roon ARC app to connect to my home's Roon server, it showed My Roon servier is online and ready, but after I hit the "Connect" button, the ARC app can't connect to the Roon Server.

Describe your network setup

ISP is Netvigator from Hong Kong
My router is TP-Link Deco BE25
Roon Server is Roon Optimized Core Kit on a PC. ARC is on apple 15 pro max

It looks like Netvigator may use Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT), which means you won’t have a public IPv4 address that is needed for port forwarding in Roon. You can confirm this by posting the diagnostic message from SettingsRoon ARC.

Consequently, if this is the situation, you’ll need to use Tailscale instead. Alternatively, Netvigator may be able to provide you with an IPv4 address.

This solution is available with the latest ROCK builds.

Hi @Ben_Ho,

We recommend Tailscale for NAT traversal in these cases.

What do you currently see for both cloud and server connectivity within settings for ARC itself?

Hi @Ben_Ho,

We haven’t seen a response and want to make sure this thread doesn’t auto-close due to inactivity until we can confirm your issue here is resolved.

Let us know if you still require some assistance with setting up Tailscale. What do you see in the RoonOS web admin?

We’ll watch for a reply.
