Roon Arc Cannot Reach Roon Core Ubuntu, Using an OpenWrt Router as Bridge/Relay

Roon Core Machine

Ubuntu latest home edition on a PC, CPU and RAM are no problem.

Networking Gear & Setup Details

I use an OpenWrt router to connect wirelessly to the WiFi internet provided to me by the internet service provider (who has confirmed that all ports are open/forwarded). This acts as a relay/bridge by creating a new subnet where any device is connected to the first subnet (one provided by the internet provider). I have installed and enabled upnp and forwarded the ports on this OpenWrt router but still Roon core gives error 504.
The Roon Core is connected to the OpenWrt router using an ethernet cable, works fine, just the Roon Arc cannot work.
Roon Core is installed on a PC that has the latest stable version of Ubuntu. Works fine, just the Roon Arc access is not there.

Connected Audio Devices

Using a Bluesound Node 2 to play music on my system, works great. Like I said, only Roon Arc is the issue.

Hi @nishantsharma87,

Thank you for your post and for the details you’ve provided.

What is the ISP-provided device in this setup? Do you have a web administration page available for that modem/router?

The most likely culprit here is a failed bridge between the OpenWrt and the upstream device.

In the meantime, please try augmenting the port assignment from 55000 to another number in the respective rules, in case your ISP or third-party software has competing port assignments.
