Description of Issue
Got Port Forwarding figured out with your help. Thanks! Worked for one trip outside the home. Now it won’t connect. Roon Core/Settings/Roon ARC - Connection worked. When I click to test, the testing wheel just spins. I’ve restarted the Mac mini, restarted the iPhone. Still won’t work.
In my case arc suddenly stops working and says “bad connection”, but that is not true, 100% on 5G.
What is going on, I tried everything. Arc started out so nice but now…could it be my home connection? That is Ziggo and very very unreliable. But arc should also work when the home connection is bad, like with Ziggo, or???
Yes it just happened “overnight”. I have the message that it didn’t see the core in more then 10 hours, but my core is on and 1,5 hours ago I tested it at home and it worked.
I also think the bug came with the last update. Maybe Roon should test updates more before they launch them.
My Roon Remote is fine and working (same iPhone 7, same network, core and dac are on and running), I installed everything again, logged out and in. Router off and on.
Arc worked fine before, bit now it cannot find my core anymore.
It must be that terrible provider Ziggo. They just raised the prices (“ inflation correction”). Time to find a better provider.
I spent the morning to keep on restarting everything, deleted Roon from the iPad and after several restarts of the core, and finally executing a Roon update for all my devices that suddenly appeared, a blue spinning wheel (“ Adding music to library”) was removed and now Arc works again in my home network. I hope now the problem is solved. It seems that that spinning wheel and some version-miscommunicating had something to do with Arc not finding the core because the core was constantly and for weeks busy with the library.
Problem solved!!
