Roon ARC unable to access Roon Server despite UPnP enabled (ref#J7KVLL)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Can’t reach my Server, remotes or ARC

Can’t connect to my Server, remotes or ARC

· Other ARC issues

Tell us what's going on

· Roon ARC suddenly unable to access your Roon Server but I did ensure that UPnP is enabled.

Tell us about your home network

· No VPN on, I use an Amplifi Alien, Spectrum internet, I'm hardwired to another Alien as a mesh point and it has been working for months without issue. Randomly last night it just stopped working. I do have UPnP enabled, even tried setting up a port forward rule for Roon, but that doesn't work.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Roon program on my Windows PC running Windows 11. That did not solve the problem either.

I had been using it all day yesterday without issue, I stopped briefly before going to bed, and was going to put on some music again only for the server to suddenly be inaccessible.

Is there a “diagnostics” window with data on the error in Roon Settings/Arc?
If so, Can you copy and paste it into a post for review?
should look something like this, though your will have different info obviously:

{ “connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“100.37.159.105”,“router_external_ip”:“192.168.1.108”}, “status”: “status”: MultipleNatFound, “natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}, “upnp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.1.1”,“found_upnp”:true} }

This is what I’m getting:

{

“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},

“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“104.aaa.bbb.ccc”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“null”,“router_external_ip”:“174.ddd.eee.fff”},

“status”: “status”: MultipleNatFound

,

“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},

“upnp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.144.1”,“found_upnp”:true},

“multinat_autoconfig”: {“status”:“Failed”,“error”:“Unexpected Error - See Log”}

}

Have you done the troubleshooting for the above?

Have you tried shutting all devices down and rebooting (router, switches, mdems, endpoints)?
Shut them all down and reboot starting at the ISP side letting them all fully boot before starting next component. Worth a shot if you have not tried yet.

Also, according to google AI Spectrum uses CGNAT which you may be able to ask them to turn it off? Maybe they enabled it on your connection recently?
If nothing else works you may need to try Tailscale:

I figured it out. I’m a complete moron.

I forgot I had ControlD DNS setup, and it was redirecting all Roon connections instead of bypassing…

Networking is not my strong suit and still a work in progress.

Thank you for your help, and assistance bearFNF.
