Roon ARC with Schiit Modi Multibit 2

Hello,

I am using Roon ARC with a Schiit Modi Multibit (using ARC because not on my home network). Playback doesn’t work if the “Enable USB DAC” option is selected. Behavior wise, there is no error message when attempting to play a track, but no audio is generated and the tracks indicate they are playing but do so at an extremely slow rate.

No issues if playing without the USB DAC option enabled.

Playing from a Samsung Galaxy S21.

Is Schiit Modi Multibit unsupported with the USB DAC feature or is something else going on?

Are you using an OTG cable?

No, I’m just using a USB-C to USB-C cable. The input on the Modi is USB-C.

Ah, then you are using a Modi Multi Bit 2, the first gen did not have a USB C connector.

Thanks for clarifying!

Hi Judd,

Are you still having the issues with the USB DAC?

Daniel

Yes, I still cannot use the Schiit Modi with USB DAC option enabled. No problems when turning the USB DAC option off, or using the USB DAC option with a different USB DAC. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Sadly, no. I’m having a similar issue with my S23 Ultra and every usb c headphone adapter I’ve tried using with ARC. Like you it fails when I turn on the USB driver.
