Having issues in Roon connecting my ifi hip dac
I’ve tried removing Realtek audio drivers, updating software and firmware for the DAC. Reinstallihg Roon, it’s working fine through the tidal app but when I quit Tidal and launch Roon the DAC doesn’t show up under audio devices.
Drop the windows firewall temporarily and see if it shows up.
Roon is meant to connect to streamers over internet. AFAIK. the iFi hip dac is just a DAC, not accessible over internet.

Dropping the Windows Denfender Firewall worked. iFi DAC is now showing up and I’m able to select ASIO or WASAPI. Thanks for the help guys!
Please add the roonappliance.exe to the list of exceptions for Windows Firewall, and bring it back up…
Roon treats everything as if it’s network connected so if it can’t “see” it because of the firewall it effectively disappears.
