Roon cannot connect to core. Started with intermittent drop outs that would last 15 to 30 seconds. Was in the middle of listening and it just dropped out and never came back.
I connected Nucleus to monitor with keyboard and mouse. It briefly showed ROON in the middle of the screen. In the top right there were 2 boxes that said "Setup and Boot List. There was a mouse cursor in the center of the screen and the keyboard was powered. Mouse and keyboard did not respond to anything. Eventually the screen went black and keyboard was still powered.
Network is working properly as I have Bluesound Node connected to ethernet and it is working.
Start by rebooting everything , power down the lot then bring each component back in turn , wait until the network and internet connection i fully complete before powering up the Nucleus
I have ordered a new Transcend M.2 SSD drive of the same model that is in my Nucleus. Also downloaded ROCK and flashed to USB drive. Will be able to work on this Thursday so hopefully I will hear from support before then for any specific instructions I may need.
Yes, these symptoms do sound like a failing SSD, so if you’d like to fix the Nucleus yourself, then this is a good troubleshooting step.
To get the Nucleus back online, you’ll need to follow the ROCK install guide from step #3 and onward (do not flash/configure BIOS), and then let us know once you are logged in to your Nucleus using Roon and we can convert the ROCK back to a Nucleus firmware remotely.
If you are still having issues after swapping to the new M2 SSD, then we can certainly investigate other options and if the warranty is still valid we can ship it in for RMA repairs.
When I select the USB flash drive as the boot device, it keeps saying Reboot and Select proper Boot Device. Somehow the flash drive must not be getting created correctly. I am using a Mac and Etcher.
