Roon can't find NAS

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

MacOS running Big Sur

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Using WiFi to access network

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Synology DS220j is connected to my router and is visible from my Mac

However, Roon does not find the Synology NAS when I enter the Share details (with password)

I get the error: ‘There was an unexpected error’

Is SMB sharing enabled on the DS220j’s sharing preferences?

(system preferences → Sharing → File Sharing [enabled] → Options → Share files and folders using SMB

Maybe needs SMB 2 as “Minimum SMB protocol”:

thanks all - solved now - it was the path that was incorrect and the cause of the problem

needed “.local” in the path name

\DS220j.local\music
