I have posted this issue in a recent entry. I have a MacBook Pro, i7, 16GB RAM, with the lastest OS update. Roon client is not recognising my Bluetooth devices. I had in the past installed video apps such as Reincubate, ManyCam, etc., which have been uninstalled. However, Roon audio preferences identifies virtual devices from these apps only, apart from the system output. Bluetooth works with System Output but not through CoreAudio. The signal path, whilst floating from 16 to 64 it drops down to 16 again before it reaches the output device. In other words I am only able to reproduce sound at High Level but no lossless, which the whole point of Roon. I've gone round and round and I simply cannot get Roon to identify my powered speakers. It used to, but something along the way has changed, but I don't know what it is.
Describe your network setup
Currently using WiFi at 1GB, via a Linksys Velop which is bridged to the modem.
Hi @Christian_Coleman-Jo,
Thank you for reaching out to us about this issue. It sounds like you may be having an issue with RAATServer. You can generate a new RAATServer instance on your device by following these instructions, but please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings → Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:
Thanks, Daniel. I’ve precisely followed your instructions, however, even when the Roon app created a new RAATServer it still does not recognise bluetooth devices. I am currently using a USB-C to RCA connection. The signal path does hit CoreAudio but the output is still High Quality instead of Lossless. This is by no means an ideal setup, but I think my physical resources are limited, and should invest in a proper kit.
Bluetooth isn’t by no means ideal either, but it’s what I’ve got at the moment.
Thanks again and if anyone else has any further thoughts, I’d be grateful.
All the best,
Christian
