It does look like a backup folder. What’s your retention timeframe for your backups set in Settings → Backups?

Aloha - i have no backups scheduled and have never manually backed up. But have since deleted those backup files and am accessing an SSD with my music instead of just using my mac so the added capacity seems to be working. Mahalo.
