Glad to hear that with the Roon update the Android phone is working as expected! Yes, Roon on the Android will not connect unless the Core is powered on and the Roon app is open. The playlists should be visible from your Android device, I would make sure that you have the correct profile selected as the one you used to create them on your Core:

If they are still not visible and you have made sure that the same profile is selected, can you please post a screenshot of what you’re seeing on the Android device for playlists vs what you’re seeing on the Core for the playlists?

With the last Android update, I can now access all the playlists. No problem there.
One question I have is about moving Roon from my pc to the Vault 2. It is annoying to have to boot up the PC just to use Roon, rather than from the Vault 2, which is always on.
How can I do that?

Glad to hear that everything is working with the latest Android update. Unfortunately, you cannot use the Vault2 as a Roon Core, the Roon Core has to be a Windows,Mac or Linux Machine. Please see our Knowledge Base for further clarification:
