Hello @g.tritto

Thank you for the detailed description — based on the behavior you’re seeing, this does not appear to be a QNAP or Roon Server issue.

The login loop is most commonly caused by the system’s default web browser blocking the authentication pop-up or redirect used during sign-in.

Even though you initiate the login from the Roon app, the authentication itself is handled by your default browser.

Please try the following:

  • Copy the login URL from the address bar
  • Paste that URL into a different browser
  • Complete the login there, then return to Roon
This often works when the original browser blocks the redirect or silently closes the authentication window.

Thank you for the insight.
Unless I’m performing this incorrectly. I’m still having the same issue.

No way to work.

I resolved reinstalling roon core kit.
After that i deactivated old roon core subscription, and allow new server.

Something was broken on roon core.

Hello @g.tritto,

Thank you for the update!

Since you have confirmed that reinstalling the Roon OS (Core Kit) and reactivating your subscription resolved the issue, we can see that your system is back up and running correctly.

As the problem is now resolved, we will proceed to close this topic. If you encounter any further difficulties or have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out by starting a new thread.

Happy listening!

Hello @Don_Ashley,

Thank you for the update.

To ensure we provide you with the most accurate assistance, could you please clarify if you are the same user as the original poster (@g.tritto) using a different account?

If you are a different user experiencing a similar symptom, the best course of action is always to open your own Support request and describe your setup in detail. While the symptoms may look the same (the login loop), the underlying cause can often be different depending on your specific system and network environment.

I reinstalled the Roon Server on my QNAP NAS after the Core became corrupted. The reinstall initially failed because QNAP still had a leftover (orphaned) Roon package directory, so I accessed the NAS via SSH and manually removed the stale .qpkg/RoonServer folder. After that, the server installed successfully.

Once installed, the Roon Remote could not discover the Core. That turned out to be caused by the NAS binding Roon to the wrong network interface (multi-NIC QNAP). Moving the Ethernet cable to a different LAN port allowed the Core to be discovered and I was able to restore my database from backup.

After the restore, playback and library browsing worked, but Roon Search and metadata services report “Cannot connect to Roon Search.” The NAS has confirmed internet connectivity and DNS resolution, and the system is currently rebuilding and re-identifying the library following the restore.

That’s why you should open your own Support request.
