Roon core linux, high CPU usage (Solved)

Roon Core Machine

CPU: Intel 12400
Motherboard: Maxsun H610itx
Memory: 8Gx2 3200Mhz
M2. SSD: 512G
No WiFi Module Installed
PVE Linux

Storage (Music Files)

Synology DS918+
600k Tracks

Description Of Issue
Roon database is imported from backup about 600k tracks. High cpu usage (20+%) causes the cpu fan to spin at high speed all the time. I have tried to install roon core on windows 10, but same, loud fan noise. it drives me crazy.

And your issue is? Roon is a busy app…network traffic to/from external servers is what makes the app as functional and feature rich as it is.

The problem is that it’s been hours, loud fan noise.

600K tracks will take some to scan and analyze so check to make sure you turn off analysis in the library settings if its bothering you or to throttled maybe, (I never set to more than 50% of cores available either) and check the scan settings in storage locations to only do at startup.

Is this a new library , 600k tracks will take probably several days even on full cores.

Maybe set the no of cores to Max overnight and back down to Throttled during the day when you are listening (Settings > Library > Background Audio Analysis speed

My core shows no activity , there is I am sure but its not externally obvious on 150k Tracks

The core machine is all new, and all tracks are restored from backup. The scan settings have been set to only execute at startup.

is there a small purple running circle icon in the top right corner area of the roon remote screen to the left of the bookmark icon that would indicate its still scanning the library like this
