Roon Core runs on a Windows 11 PC.
The network is a standard standard setup with a central cable internet router running with mixed LAN/Wifi clients.

Description of Issue

Everything works fine. I can stream with all devices in my home network. Devices are Windows PC, Macbooks, iPhone, iPad.

As soon as I activate an OpenVPN connection on the Roon Core Server Windows 11 PC all tracks are skipped. Roon Clients don’t show that the core is disconnected it’s only that all tracks are skipped. Browsing in the library is still possible.

This is to be expected since the VPN has essentially created a layer of NAT separating the core from endpoints, and the core can no longer see them.

Is there a workaround?

If your routing all traffic through it no, If you can configure the vpn to not route all local traffic through it it might work.

Briefly turn off the VPN, or use routing / port forwarding if the VPN has these features.
