Description of Issue

In the background it seems that Roon is crashing all the time on my Flip-4. My phone suggests to put Roon in a deep sleep…

And still a lot of Roon remote crashes. Can support shine some light on this?

Hi @RM_Kamphuis ,

I activated diagnostics mode for your Android device and I’m not seeing any crash traces specifically, but I am noticing something strange, which is that your logging indicates many screen refresh rate changes in short amounts of time. I wonder if this is related, can you try to see if setting your phone to use one refresh rate prevents the crashes?

Dear Noris,

The screen refresh rate was adaptive (switching to 120Hz for fluid scrolling). I switched it to 60Hz to see if the alert keeps popping up. Strange that it does not give the alert on scrolling in browsers though. Thanks for the reply!

Do you have battery optimisation on for Roon, as the Samsung OS might be closing it if it is in the background.

Battery automatic optimisation was on. Changed that too. Thanks!

Hopefully that helps, it used to impact me as Roon is a bit of a memory beast. I always turn it off now and my phone often complains that Roon or ARC are draining my battery, but it no longer shuts either down
