Hey @Gabriel_Somfai,

Thanks so much for reaching out and sharing your report - welcome to the community as well!

An odd issue you have here, let’s see if clearing the Tidal Cache may help you in this case:

  • Exit out of Roon
  • Find and open your Roon database
  • Navigate to Roon/Cache
  • Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
  • Try restarting Roon and verify if the issue still occurs

Thank you!

Hello! Thank you kindly for your prompt response. For clarity, under the Roon directory there is/are both a cache folder, populated,( brooimages_1, images and sessions) And a database folder. The database folder Cache subfile is completely empty! .?. Normal?

Hello once again… sorry I was in the wrong directory, I will try the experiment again/now.

I just filed an issue for the same thing. Started immediately after updating to build 1496

So I have been trying to move the cache, first only the tidal content then the entire cache, windows doesn’t permit, saying that the file is being used by another program. I might ad?..that I recently purchased a new Gustard x30 dac and they are providing a so called “X30.local” access to my various services!
Addendum… using task manager I was able to close all instances of Roon and was finally able to move the cache in its entirety to the desktop… the crash/shutdown problem is still happening. I should reiterate, it is only the “front page” shortcut blue button switch , under “mixes for you” that causes the problem. When I open the “mix” without the speed button shortcut, I can run the selection normally. Thought?

Further thoughts….i went directly to my tidal app. (iOS) and on that platform tidal “my mix” button doesn’t have the “blue” one touch button option, so I’m wondering if the problem is related to recent updates on their app/end? As a reminder, yesterday, while the button failed Roon in windows the iOS version still worked. Today both fail the Roon app! My records show a Tidal update in December but the Roon app iOS update happened today. This might help get to the solution.

Thank you for the additional information and troubleshooting steps attempted so far @Gabriel_Somfai and @Cody_Thompson!

While our team continues to investigate this issue, we’re curious to see if refreshing your Roon Server database results in the same crash:

  • Make a Backup of your current RoonServer Database
  • Exit out of RoonServer
  • Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database

We’ll be on standby for your results! :+1:

Hello, I went through this exercise 4 times. Complete reinstal(s), no luck, but frustrating. Same issues. More than two hours and same issues exactly. When the “quick access”

Blue circle shortcut……is pushed, then Roon shuts down. Yesterday only on p.c. And today since iOS update on all my iOS devices too (there was an update from you. I give up. I suspect that the problem is between you and Tidal but regardless. More than 2 hours, multiple installs, enough! For now I’m back up and running…good enough. :pray:t2:

I just tried this and got the same result. Roon on Dell crashes immediately upon clicking on the blue circle shortcut. There is no problem if you click on the square to open the mix, then click Play now. I can live without using the blue circle shortcut, but it should be repaired.

Thank you for your sharing and support. I appreciate the confirmation of the issue.:pray:t2:

I have exactly the same issue, Roon on MacOS 15.2 Roon build 1496

I have same issue after latest update. Roon app closes when clicking on any mix option under Tidal “Mixes for you”.

Roon remote win 11 and server ubuntu 24.04.1 on Roon version 2.0 (build 1496)

I have the same problem with Roon client on MacOS.

Just to clarify: this is not a problem with the server but with the client. The client closes immediatly after the user clicks on the “My Mix” in Tidal. There is no log on the Roon server, other than the one saying the client disconnected.

This problem also does not happen if you don’t click on the blue arrow, but instead click next to it (it opens the playlist instead of sttarting to play immediatly). You can then play the playlist from there.

This problem does not happen neither with Roon client on Android, or on Windows, one one can play Tidal’s My Mix with those directly by clicking the blue arrow.

It only happen with the MacOS client, only when you click on the blue arrow, and this is where the problem is.

Yup, same issue here. The iOS and Mac OS Roon apps both crash when attempting to play 'My Mix" from Tidal through Roon using the play button. Although, it does work when you click into the mix and “play now”.

Same problem. I use the Tidal mixes frequently, and this has been frustrating. Thank you @Gabriel_Somfai for mentioning the workaround. I’m on a Galaxy 24u.

On my iPad (2022 latest iOs & Roon versions) I have the same issue - Roon quits without any notice.

I have the same issue, on windows and ipad pro and iphone

Yep, me too, same issue
