Roon Nucleus

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

NAS Synology DS 214 play, linked by ethernet cable to ROON Nucleus

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

The Nucleus is likked by a USB Cable to the DAC (an Ifi Micro IDSD Black Label) that is linked by RCA cables to the amplifier (McIntosh MA 5200).

Description Of Issue

When trying to listen to a DSD 512 file on Nucleus, it only reproduced the sound for 25 seconds after which a message appeared stating “An audio file is loading slowly. This may indicate a performance or hardware problem”. I tried in Device Setup to increase Buffer size to the maximum without success. Will there be incompatibility between the devices or can I solve the problem?

Hi @Daniel_Bonhorst,

Just to verify, is all other content working okay for you in Roon?

Can you share a screenshot of Device Setup for this Zone?

I didn’t notice anything about my Roon’s operation
I send the screenshot you requested:

Do you have Parallelize set in the DSP DSD Processing Options?

Thanks for the sugestion. It worked perfectly …
Has it lost quality? It is not noticeable.

Hello @Daniel_Bonhorst,

Glad to hear that the Parallelize Sigma-Delta Modulator setting has helped! This setting splits up the DSD conversion into multiple threads so that more CPU cores perform this conversion process instead of just one core. Also, to answer your question - no audio quality is lost.
