Roon does not see my Sonore MicroRindu

I am in my trial period with Roon and its not working.

I have a Sonore MicroRindo as my end point connected by wire to my network.

I have tried to to connect with both an older Mac Mini and a fairly new windows PC.

But both fail to see the MicroRindu

I have set the microrendu to Roon ready on the sonore site. It had no problem finding the MicroRendu.

I have tried powering everything down and restarting several times - to no better results.

@Robert_Caputo, thank you for posting your support request. To allow the Roon staff and Community to better support you, can you also add the information requested below:

Roon Core Machine

Include your operating system and machine info (Model, CPU, RAM)

Networking Gear & Setup Details

Your network gear (model of routers/switches) and if on WiFi/Ethernet

Connected Audio Devices

Specify what devices you’re using and their connection types, like USB/HDMI/Chromecast, etc.

Number of Tracks in Library

Tell us how large your music library is, eg. “30,000 tracks”

Description of Issue

Tell us about the problem you’re having in as much detail as possible. Screenshots are always appreciated!

Roon Core Machine that I want to have work is this one.

The Mac Mini is the 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

  • GB 1600 Mhz DDR3
    running Catalina V 10.15.7

Networking Gear & Setup Details Both the Mac Mini and the and the sonore MicroRendu are connected by ethernet to a Netgear GS305 switch.
Both ethernet wires are new Cat7.

The Mac Mini has Zero tracks saved on board but I have liked maybe 500 tracks in Tidal.

I sent a screenshot of the issue in Roon - if you cant see it its because I may not know the right way to send it

Not sure if this is relevant to you but Roon did not see my microRendu unless the attached DAC was powered on (and set to the correct input)

Also: What DAC are you using?
I seem to remember reading here that some DACs don’t work with rendus and some streamers having something to do with not having Linux support?
I’m not 100% sure about this and perhaps someone else can verify if this is true.
But listing your DAC info might help.

Hi Jeff thank you so much its pumping out music right now!

Thank you so much - it was the setting on the DAC

Will Gustard works just fine turns out - but I have my eye on a Chord TT2 have you heard that it wont work?

Glad it’s working.
I routinely forget my microRendu connected DAC is in standby mode and freak out cause I can’t see it in Roon

I honestly can’t remember the precise context of the thread about DACs and Rendus.
But I have a Hugo 2 and I’ve tested it with the microRendu and it’s fine so I’d think TT2 will be fine too.

And the Hugo 2 is superb.
The batteries in mine are at the end of their life which I’m using as justification to purchase the TT2. I had one on loan for a while.
You won’t be disappointed.

That is fantastic news thank you Jeff.

Not sure if I should continue with a second question here or post a new question but now that the MicroRendu is working how do I even start to optimize the sound - ie setting in roon ?

Ask your question in the #roon category of the forum. Thanks.
