Roon server doing multichannel amplification through Roon convolution
from 2 channels to 6 channels (2*3way active setting) connected to Dante via 16 channel exit to amps and worked like a charm before update.
After update, Roon still detect Dante via 16 channel but do not send audio.
As a test “Youtube/ safari” sent to 2 channel audio and Dante works, idem in Dante 16 channel audio
Roon to 2 channels audio does not transmit sound to Dante via. Idem for Dante 16 channel audio
So no sound for two days now.
Did try to use directly Roon on the mac mini and not roon server. Define Dante as output. The Dante device is seen but no sound sent to Dante (as view in Dante via via) and no sound
I have been not able to see exactly were is the pb.
Test continue
Roon server works fine on other players on the network android or windows… (TV, phone, laptop).
So the only point is the connection to Dante network on the macMini.
Since youtube could play through Dante on my Macmini and that Roon could not, I tried to suppress any convolution and test in stereo… same problem
Roon remote play the file as it was working, time cursor goes ahead but no sound.
Not a pb of volume since Dante controler shows that nothing is transmitted.
Cannot go further except go for Camilla Dsp and quit Roon for now!
Hi Robert,
No, you cannot use Dante Via and Dante Virtual sound card on the same computer.
I use Dante Via for 3 years now with Roon without any pb until that update.

OK continuing my testing using another Mac mini with Dante Virtual sound card (DVS) and Roon new version as a remote.
Well, by routing from DVS to the Dante network of my Roon server, I can now reach the amps through Dante.
Before update the name of the Roon audio exit were named “roonserver1” to 16 and by routing these exit to my amp it was perfect.
Now with the update the “roonserver” exit does seems to be working.
DVS send the sound to “16 Ch application input1” to 16.
But these “16 ch application input1-16” does not appears directly in Dante Via with the Roonserver running only.
let see if running Roon on that server part will help.
Whatever clearly something change in the way audio output are organize with this new Roon version…
Well, after disconnecting the server and reset everything from scratch it finally works
Got the server giving sound directly through Dante. Don’t know what was wrong but now it’s working…
the Roonserver outputs from 1-16 connect correctly to Dante output.
End of story for me.
