Can you see the Kef,s on your network at all outside of Roon?
If so can you verify they are on the same network as your Mac that is hosting the Roon Core.

Yes I can use them through spotify

How do you verify they are on same network? My core is wired by Ethernet same network as my wireless router that my Kefs are on.

Would it be better if I run my Roon core on Mac mini by wireless instead of wired?

I seriously doubt it but…
For a quick test, could you connect the Kef by cable at all?

Just to see if Roon then sees them.

As to verify all on same network you would need to get their ip addresses with something like Fing .

All devices for Roon need to be on the same subnet, so first three sets of ip address have to match…like 192.168.1.xxx

Ok thanks I will try.

I switched my Mac Mini to wireless and it saw speakers

Then that tells me that your wired network and your wireless network are NOT on the same subnet.

You really need your Core to be wired, wireless is not recommended although it can work.

I have another issue when I play the Roon app through my Kef the app keeps dropping out son . It wil play for about a minute and song starts dropping out and you can see the Mac wheel spinning then it pauses and I have to start again. Sometimes it drops and Mac wheel spins and then it will begin playin through. I know it is not my speakers because of you play through Spotify app it does not drop song at all. Can you help with suggestions please? I want to like my Roon app but can’t have it dropping out on every song.

That’s likely the Core dropping out because it’s now wireless, that’s one of the main problems running wireless Core right there.

You need to get it back to wired and find out why your wireless network is on an apparently different subnet

I run my LS50 Ws wirelessly, but I had to make sure there was a really robust network to avoid drop outs

My Hub/WiFi is on the first floor where the LS50 s are, my Nucleus is downstairs; I swapped the telephone cable (wall to hub) for a shielded one (£55/18m) and the hub to Nucleus to Cat7 ~10m

I was getting around 50mbs at the KEFs, no further issues.

I’ve now got full fibre 512mbs and I get +/- 200mbs at the KEFs and up to 400mbs where I sit with the iPad. The telephone cable is gathering dust as I’m also Cat7 from fibre box (GF) to Hub (1F) and back down to the Nucleus

Maybe check your connections with Speed Test?

Are you using a separate device for wireless? If so ensure that this is not running its own DHCP server which is likely what is happening ensure its in bridge mode so the router hands our DHCP. If it’s a single router wireless system then ensure that both WiFi and wired network have the same subnet and IP range first 3 set of digits should match if not Roon will not see the Kef’s.

Also check to see if there are any settings related to Multicast. Some routers block mulitcast traffic on wireless and Roon relies on this for discovery. Look for any settings related to IGMP and toggle off/on and retry.

Thanks for all the help guys. I will look at these things and let you know.
