Roon dropouts on 96Hz or higher

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Description Of Issue
Roon does not work for me on anything 96Khz or higher, nothing but dropouts.

Until you list properly what was requested above you can’t expect much advice

My immediate thought is it’s under spec and/or probably still importing and analysis of music is still going on.

Mac mini,2012 16 gig of Ram, running wireless to Bluesound Node 2 in living room, no ethernet to Motorola router to Mac mini,TP Link extender connects to Bluesound Node

Start with these…you have a lot to improve

Hi @Robert_Rowan,

The links that @wizardofoz shared above are definitely a good starting point.

  • You’ll want to make sure that Roon is installed on an SSD on a machine that meets our requirements
  • I definitely recommend trying out an Ethernet connection instead of WiFi and see if that helps
  • Try playing to System Output of the Mac and let us know if that results in any change

So…after giving up on Roon because of the dropouts, thinking maybe my hardware wasn’t up to snuff, I thought maybe I should try running a Ethernet cable from my Mac mini to my router (I know right) which is on the other side of the room… Hallelujah!! Perfect music, no dropouts! The Bluesound Node 2 is up stairs but running like a champ now.:+1:
Thanks
