Description of Issue

I’m using a Topping DAC that I have in exclusive mode but the output shows OS Mixer and I’m not getting lossless. What do I need to do?

Change your MQA capabilities to none. The D10 isn’t MQA enabled.

See what happens when.

On that same screen you’ll scroll down to see advanced settings.

Click to show

Set volume to 100% as you have it fixed. And have MQA decoder set so Roon does the first unfold for MQA.

@David_Burkholder, in your first screenshot, it appears you are using the system output from your PC because the D10s is not in your signal chain in the second screenshot. Are you sure you have selected the correct output for the D10s? I have a number of interfaces connected to a Windows 11 laptop I use as a Remote and each is selectable from within Roon.

I disabled all the other outputs and now it works. It looks like I was using the wrong source. It’s confusing when all the devices show up.

Do I have to adjust something on the NUC to get lossless?

Don’t play through the system output.

To do so enable exclusive mode in Roon in device setup settings.

It’s in exclusive and still doesn’t output 44.1

Did you enable exclusive mode after you took the screenshot?
The screenshot shows OS Mixer which means you’re not in exclusive mode.
Also, I don’t see the Topping in your signal path there.
You have it connected via USB?
Is the Topping enabled in Roon audio settings?
Once it’s enabled you’ll want to enable exclusive mode for the Topping by clicking the cog icon beside it.
Here’s my audio settings for example:

The Topping is recognized but it is t a known device in Roon. I have exclusive mode checked.

That looks like the right settings to me.
But if you’re seeing OS mixer, for some reason the Topping isn’t in exclusive mode.
It shouldn’t matter that the device isn’t recognized.
One of my DACs isn’t recognized either but it works as expected.
Hopefully someone else will have a solution or @support can help.

This has been solved in this thead:

@David_Burkholder, in the future, please post support questions only once as it creates multiple threads and may delay getting to a solution.
