Describe the issue

Roon is agonizingly slow. Unresponsive on any tablet, phone or computer I use. App crashes frequently. Adding albums to library takes forever, starting to play music takes ages, the interval between songs in playlist sometimes takes so long my active speakers have turned off. It happens with albums on qobuz, tidal or local. Sometimes it works ok for a while or roon is suddenly responsive, until I try to add an album to the library. It can take minutes. Using Roon becomes a frustrating experience this way. Other apps like streammagic work flawlessly with the same albums.

Describe your network setup

Gigabit glassfiber, fritzbox 5490, cambridge cxn100 streamer, ethernet connection directly to the router, no switches.Cambridge cxa81 amplifier, b&o beolab 8000 active speakers. My ISP is Freedom, a dutch isp.
Roon remote on several Ipads , macbook pro and windows pc.

Hi @ErickL,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I activated diagnostics on your account and your logs are showing repeated scanning of your Qobuz account. Can you try disabling Qobuz temporarily to see if performance improves? You can do that from the Roon settings → Services page and clicking the three dot menu next to Qobuz.

Hi Daniel, thanks for your reply. Today even local files started stuttering during playback. Out of frustration I did several things:
I reset my modem, rebooted the nuc and restarted the roon server. I switched to cloudflare permanently, i quit from Tidal and cleared the library. There were some 28 qobuz albums with all the tracks marked as unavailable. I deleted those. Before, I tried disabling the Tidal account, because it would be void anyway, but that didn’t help. Only changing the dns to cloudflare did nothing either.
I don’t know what or what combination did the trick, but all seems to work. I hope it’ll stay this way. Thanks for the help
Have a nice day

Regards,

Eric
