Roon Extension: Alarm Clock v0.9.1 (current)

Hi @dhusky,

Do you have multiple profiles in Roon? The Roon API has an issue in that it only shows the playlists for the first created profile.

Thanks @Jan_Koudijs - does the distinction between profiles still exist then for playlists? I thought they were now simply named foldersā€¦Iā€™ll have a play with putting them in different foldersā€¦

Edit: No luck, sadly, doesnā€™t matter where the playlist goes, itā€™s not visible unless in the streaming service (Qobuz). In fact, if I add a new play list to the streaming service, thatā€™s not visible either, even after rebooting the Alarm Clock host - it seems to be working from some sort of cached copy of the playlists.

Just wondering whether anyone out there is successfully using playlists with the extension since the recent Roon updates?

Am surprised others havenā€™t commented, which makes me wonder whether the issue is something to do with my setup, perhaps related to use of profiles, as suggestedā€¦

Same here, cannot choose local playlists nor new qobuz ones for scheduling an alarm. Pls advise if this can be fixed or any alternativesā€¦

I also saw this issue with two of my users of rooMax.

One of them deleted the folder named ā€œAPIā€ in the Roon registry. For him this worked, but not for the other guy.

This folder will be recreated by Roon so no damage here.

There is a support request for playlist issues in the Roon API, letā€™s see if this brings anything.

I donā€™t know if this is a help but after running update or install for the alarm ext in the app manager my playlists repopulated.

Dear all
After the installation the alarm Clock says ā€œlocal timeā€ 2hours behind my TimeZone. What can I do? Standard entry is ā€œEurope / Londonā€ and canā€™t change ā€¦Regards from Switzerland Renato

The timezone ā€œEurope / Londonā€ is 2 hours behind your local time so all is as setup. Without knowing how you installed the extension and where, it is hard to impossible to provide you with help.

Change that entry to the correct for you ā€œEurope/Zurichā€ and you should be good to go. Maybe if you tell, better show, us where you see that entry and why you canā€™t change it someone is able to help you.

PS: Please keep help requests in one place. If you installed the extension via this other authors software, then you should probably just post there?

Hi @Renato_Cazzaniga,

As you are using rooExtend, the first step is to set the timezone in rooExtend, maybe @DrCWO can tell how this is done. This is the global fix for all apps that rely on local time.

Next you open the Extension Manager and select the Alarm Clock entry. If you select the Update action the newly set timezone should be taken over. If not then you can change the value to Europe/Zurich. Press Save to activate the new timezone. If you now open the Alarm Clock settings than the local time should be okay.

Dear Jan
I always was 2 hours away from the Europe/London, not from my local time. I reinstalled all the Pi and It works. Iā€™m so happy. Thanks a lot for your support. Renato

Reinstalled all the Pi and the time is right now. Thanks a lot and sorry for mixing up requests! Best, Renato

Has anyone else had the Alarm Clock start music at a seemingly entirely random time? Itā€™s now happened to me on two occasions that both zones associated with an Alarm randomly start up at an unrelated time. Looking at Roon logs shows an API query from the extension, followed by a play instruction. Time zones are correct, and the alarm also starts at the correct time. Thoughts? Unfortunately, the music has woken people up on both occasions, which has made me rather unpopular!
