Description of Issue

2 issues:
Core currently failing to update. I have downloaded build 970 from .com/downloads but wondering why auto-update isn’t working. Getting ‘There was an error checking for an update’ message.
Mac Core, Android and iOS remotes also losing control of KEF LSX audio device (wired downstairs to router, core is upstairs wired via TP Link socket extenders). Have quit, restarted, logged in and out, uninstalled, reinstalled. KEFs are running the latest firmware. Can’t play at all to those speakers all of a sudden. Usually resolves on core restart, but not currently. Can play from core to secondary speakers via a wired DAC.

That’s likely your problem source.

Roon’s Networking best practices article says :

Ethernet Over Power (EoP)
The quality of Ethernet Over Power solutions varies quite a bit, and generally it will be less reliable than Ethernet. There are times it can work well, but if you’re having a problem and powerline ethernet is involved, we recommend temporarily replacing the ethernet over power connection with a real ethernet cable to see if things improve.

Thanks for the swift response @Marin_Weigel. Thought so. So core should be wired to the main router; there’s no other way of an optimal wired core set up upstairs, that doesn’t use powerline adaptors? No phone line upstairs so cant use a second router i guess. Have just tested core downstairs directly into the router and problem solved :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
