· Roon often fails to find the Roon OS Server which is on this Macbook pro. Also if it does achieve this it fails to play music to my Auralic Altair G1. Using Mac OS 27.01
RoonOS is only hosted on ROCK or Nucleus machines. Roon Server itself will be hosted on the Mac, but you won’t need to access the “Find RoonOS” dialog window.
What are the specific error messages you’re encountering in Roon when you have problems with Roon Remote connectivity or playback?
Diagnostics show that there might be multiple Roon Server instances installed on top of one another on this Mac. Have you recently restored a Backup or migrated your server?
As a side note, we’ve just shipped a hotfix to address device discovery issues on macOS 27 Golden Gate. The latest Apple release, 27.0.1, resolved most of these before the hotfix, but please update to the latest available Roon build in the meantime on both your server and remotes.
Wanted to follow up on this. Were you able to check whether the Mac has more than one Roon Server installation on it, or if this started after a Backup restore or server migration? It would also help to know the exact error you see in Roon when Roon Remote loses connectivity or playback drops out, and please make sure both the Mac and your remotes are on the latest Roon build.
