About a week ago, Roon would open but I was unable to play any music. I could click around and pages would change, etc but if tried to play anything nothing would happen. I tried restarting multiple times, logging in and out, etc and same issue persisted.
I decided to trash Roon and try to reinstall. It now doesn't get past the initial connect screen and does not load at all.
It shows the connect button but won't let me click on it or when I do nothing happens.
Describe your network setup
I am running on a Mac Book Pro - 2.3 GHZ i9, 16 GB memory and on Sonoma 14.5
We’ve activated diagnostics for the affected RoonServer instance. Beginning on 8/2, network reachability changes and premature closures in network connections begin to accumulate in logs. Eventually, these network closures are sufficient to cause a logout in Roon and streaming services.
Do you really on WiFi or ethernet to reach the internet on this machine?
Do you have any third-party stateful firewalls that might be restricting Roon’s network access? What about VPNs?
I’d first verify that RoonServer has been fully terminated as a background process on the machine. If you have a Backup available, then from there, I’d reinstall the GUI completely by taking the following steps:
well I was unable to find a room folder so I assume that was deleted. I saw that there was a software update for Mac. I updated that and then redownloaded Roon and it does allow me in and is working again.
