Describe the issue

After latest update Roon no longer starts on any device. I have Roon Controller on both a Mac and my Samsung phone. I also have Roon ARC on my phone as well. When starting the Roon apps all that shows is a white screen with the "working" icon.

Describe your network setup

I'm using a TP-Link AC1200 wireless router extender connected to my ROCK with an Ethernet cable.

Hello @Peter_Rodriguez,

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

Would you kindly perform the restart of the ROCK device

  • Open the ROCK Web UI
  • Locate the red button on the upper right
  • Click it once → Press Reboot
  • Wait for the ROCK to reboot
  • On the WebUI press Roon Server Software → Restart

Hi Vadim,

I did attempt that but the web UI that I had been using is giving an ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED error message

Hello @Peter_Rodriguez

Based on the diagnostic data collected from your account, the IP address of your NUC appears to be 10.0.0.104.

Could you please try accessing it using that address and let us know the result?

Thanks. That did the trick. Why does the IP change without any notifications?

That’s related to your router giving out a different IP address and nothing to do with Roon.

Generally it is recommended to give it an IP reservation on your router so it doesn’t change IP address.

Hello @Peter_Rodriguez.

You’re very welcome — glad to hear that worked!

As for the IP address change: most home routers are configured by default to assign dynamic (DHCP) IP addresses to devices on the network. This means the router can change a device’s IP address automatically, especially:

  • After the router is rebooted
  • When the device is disconnected and reconnects
  • When the DHCP lease expires

This is standard behavior for most consumer-grade routers to manage networks automatically. However, if you want a device to always have the same IP address (to avoid connection issues or simplify setup), you can assign a static IP on the device or set up a DHCP reservation in your router’s settings.
