network:

Fritz!Box 7590

Roon Bridge with Ropiee

Number of Tracks in Library

9000 Albums, 119000 tracks

Description of Issue

since some days Roon ask for logindata, sometimes after starting the server, sometimes roon logs out automaticly after one hour or so. In this cases I need to restart the core or have to put in login data again and wait some minutes to find the core.

that happens with starting Roon-Gui in Windows also with Roon App on iPhone and iPad.

Maybe I should tell that I have other strange things, also since few days. Tidal is always logged out while Qobuz works. Roon Radio does not start after the last track of an album.

Hi @maky100,

Can you please share an approximate timestamp of when this last occurred or next occurs?

Do you have any symptoms of networking problems with your Roon Remotes, like screen loading failures, failures to reach the Core, or audio stream dropouts?

Sorry, that I have not done a correction of my posting. No idea why, but restarting the Fritzbox solved the problem.

And now it happend again, got a login failure and an email with an security alert. Device for login is an iPad which work perfect for days. Same internet connection as always. Not possible to connect. Connection to Rock webinterface with safari shows no problem, an roon app fails and asks me if I am online.
Same with the notebook, no chance to log in.
Now it say „problem with loading the library“. I have no problem to connect to rock shares and file folder with windows explorer.
Have done again a router restart and after 3 minutes or more of trying to connect it works again.

Hi again
tried to solve the problem for many days, including reinstal roon rock.
nothing helps.
Roon server is not running all the time. I do a new start each day after my work.
First message I get is „problem with loading the library“.
After a restart of rock and loading for 5 minutes or more, I can see my library with the notebook or the IPad. Qobuz is ready, for Tidal I have to do a new login.
After all this things are done, Roon works fast and without any problem.
To do this things each day makes no fun.

Any idea what happen here?

I have uploaded the log folder to https://workdrive.zohoexternal.com/collection/8i5239cc05950ac07456889838d9319545a82/external
name of the zip file starts with maky100_emailadress.zip

OK, I have delivered all what from my side could be done. No answer from the support till now.
I can tell you, that I have found out the reason for the problems, maybe it helps other ones with the same problem in the future. Because of an empty cmos battery in my NUC the time stamp was not set correct and I think Roon checks it, and if it is not valid, login is not possible after booting the NUC. After a restart a long time waiting it worked well. After replacing the cmos battery in the NUC all works fine.
Note: it‘s not easy to replace this battery in a NUC, but with help of google I found a video how to do it.
@support: I think you could see this problems in the logfile. Sad that you were not willing to help.

Please do not assume unwillingness. The Support team is small, and their workload queue is large.

Glad that you were able to diagnose the problem yourself. Let’s leave it at that.

Sorry for my unfriendly words, It was a hard time  to have a non fully working Roon system for many weeks. I like the work of the Roon Team and love using Roon every day.
