I rebuilt the NUC (nuc11pahi7 - 11th gen, 32GB RAM, nvme Samsung 980 pro 500gb) with Archlinux (Audiolinux V3 verison), set up Roon Server logged in Roon and Tidal + Qobuz (small library of them)… and no local library or NAS…
It has frozen and lost connection 4 times since yesterday for no apparent reason… just playing music with no additional filter or anything else. With no network issue ro something like that.
I restar it and play again… it run for intermittent time… sometimes 1hr, another 4hrs with no problem, or just 30min and freezes again.
Hi Hossameldeen,
Not yet… I am waiting some answer from Roon support and Piero from AL.
I have been insisting on it because I tested another versions but V3 really plays so good
Thank you for the report. First off, the team would like to enable diagnostics for your account. Can you please provide a timestamp or the name of a track this is playing when you next encounter freezing/crashing with RoonServer? We’ll pinpoint the event in logs.
Do you have any network switches or other hardware in addition to this Ubiquiti router? Please first make sure any QoS settings are disabled, or if enabled, that Roon’s IP address is prioritized in any rules. If you have any additional smart network hardware, please bypass it and hardwire the RoonServer machine directly to the main router.
I wanted to inform you that I recently removed my old library, which consisted of over 8000 albums. Following this, I added only a few tracks, around 300 in total, and I’m pleased to share that it has been working fine for the past 3 hours.
For your information, my system is equipped with 48 GB of RAM, and Roon has been utilizing only 5 to 6 GB. Hence, I don’t believe the issue is related to memory constraints. I plan to test by adding my entire library to see how it performs. @connor
Additionally, I’m curious if there is a way to restore my listening history and favorite tracks from the backup of the old library. Could you please guide me on the process?
Regards

→ Of course, I restarted all system and now it started play…
Just to remind you, I only logged into Tidal and Qobuz (my NAS is out from Storage option to test each part).
As soon as it happens I will notice it here

→ As I am Telecom Specialist this is easy to me, and the Roon Server is connected directly to my router, with no QoS or anything else.
I hope Roon developers will fix this.
Here I have made my analysis of dmesg, linux journal and Roon log without relevant information.
Many users are having this problem only with Roon. Other audio applications are working fine also on 24/24.
I could also provide to Roon the original OS image.
I am using AudioLinux v3 with Roon and HQPlayer. I also face this serious problem during music playing back. It is very annoying. Could Roon can provide the solution as soon as possible?
I have been using Audiolinux with a fanless PC (NUC12i7) for approximately two months, and everything was running smoothly until one night. The Roon server suddenly stopped responding, and despite my attempts to access the status through the web UI, there was no response at all. I touched the chassis of the fanless PC and noticed that it was unusually hot. However, I was able to power off the device by pressing the front power button. After letting it cool down for an hour, I powered it back on, and so far, it appears to be functioning normally again. This issue has occurred three times within the span of two months, making it incredibly frustrating. I would greatly appreciate it if Roon could provide a prompt solution to this recurring problem. Thank you.
@connor Here is another configuration exhibiting same issues as above.

Description of Issue
Same as above. System hangs for no apparent reason. The timing is random and occurs in hours or days. Cannot see anything other events at the same time in the journal.
Please advise if more detail is required. No problem if you want to turn on trace for my account.
Once in a while, connection with my Audiolinux server is broken, whilst cooling of the PC starts running at full speed. No applications are actively used, only Roon and HQPlayerEmbedded are enabled.
This takes about 4-5minutes, during which server is not reachable:
ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.240 port 22: Connection timed out
Then cooling is calming down, , and the system becomes reachable again.
I have noticed this a couple of times (most probably this has happened more often when I was not present).
I have also (tried to) test(-ed) this with only HQPlayerEmbedded active (Roon disabled) , and system behaviour remained normal.
I have taken a look into Roon logs, but nothing special to be seen there.
