I still dont get why roon is built with this flaw?
Even in western regions, there are countless compilation releases with different Artists. But the track list still runs in order starting at 1 and increasing to the final total count of the tracks on that disc. If you were to play this CD in any standard player, the track numbers would not reset to start back at 1 simply because of an artist change.
Roon is interpreting track numbers correctly according to ID3, which is the metadata format used by most metadata sites and apps. Track numbers are consecutive from 1 within an album/original release. A compilation of albums is not an album/original release.
In general, before complaining about Roon’s handling of metadata, it’s useful to understand long-standing metadata formats and conventions that predate Roon.
