· Prebuilt Branded Roon Server (SonicTransporter, Innous, Merging...)

Describe the issue

My Roon library has become significantly slower to respond after playing and searching for a while, and I’m concerned about any inconsistencies in my database. Could you please investigate this issue?

Describe your network setup

1 Gbit fiber internet connection and all sores connections at home. I’m using a Grimm MU1 as a Roon code.

Hello @Alexander_van_der_He ,

Thanks for reaching out. Can you please provide some examples of actions that are taking longer and the exact local time + date that the issues occur? We’ll enable logging and see if there are any errors at that time. Also, I noticed you mentioned a reboot helps with the issue at least temporarily. How long does the system perform as expected before it enters the slowness conditions mentioned?

Hi Noris, thanks for your reply!

I believe I’ve figured it out. It turned out to be a faulty RJ45 connector that caused the network cable connected to my Roon Core to be unstable. After replacing the connector, everything is running smoothly again.

Best regards,
Alexander

Hello @Alexander_van_der_He

That is great news! A faulty physical connection can definitely cause packet loss that manifests as interface lag, so that explains the behavior perfectly. Good catch.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread now. Happy listening!
