Just a fellow user
Try force closing the app - recent screen and swipe upwards
If still persisting clear the cache from the app - press and hold the Roon remote app icon, app info should appear or similar as you’ve got a slightly dated G7. Select storage and cache. Tap on clear cache.

Thanks for your help. Before my post I had tried a Force Stop which didn’t help. Later I powered down and restarted the phone, which did solve the issue. Perhaps it was a cleared cache from that restart which did the trick.
