To confirm, you group the devices before playback starts, correct?
You have my apologies if this has been glazed over, but have you tested out using the Resync Delay function at all? If not, temporarily try enabling resync delay in Device Setup:
Device Setup > Resync Delay > try 500ms – 2000ms
This gives both endpoints time to prepare before playback starts.
Another thought - If the Naims support multicast RAAT, Roon might default to unicast depending on network discovery. You can try toggling IGMP snooping off/on in your router’s settings to see if multicast behavior improves zone grouping.
To confirm again. The two Naims have been grouped this way for years. Only the third Naim always plays alone.
Sometimes the group is out of sync from the start, sometimes the group is in sync at the beginning and loses during the game. Both possibilities exist.
Resync Delay > I know this function and have tried it in the past. There were no changes in the synchronization behavior. Nevertheless, I just set it to 1000ms.
IGMP Snooping > As far as I know, this is not possible (Fritzbox 5690 pro), but I’m no network expert! > “Disabling/enabling IGMP snooping in your router’s settings…”
We don’t have immediate next steps just yet, but our team is actively reviewing your case. We’ll follow up with more information and troubleshooting guidance as soon as we have an update.
I think we should close this request. We’re going around in circles, building castles in the air.
Some of the questions are repeated and have been answered multiple times; some are simply not possible.
I’ve been living with this for a long time; this is the second request, and I’ve already put a lot of effort into finding solutions. This isn’t support.
Hi @Thorsten_Heinrich,
Of course, we’ll go ahead and close this thread for you.
We understand how frustrating this issue has been, and we truly appreciate your patience. As mentioned earlier, we’re actively working with Naim to find a solution. Once there’s meaningful progress, either Roon or Naim will share an update publicly.
