Roon - My First 3 Hours - Superb - Some Q's though

Signed up for a Roon trial (followed by a trial of Qobuz so I could explore the integration). Gave it the music folder on my NAS.

Some questions:

  • When I search a label, it’s appears, however when I click, it only shows the music in my library. Anyway I could get everything available on Qobuz?
  • I like the Qobuz integration in Roon - more than Qobuz. Anyway to search Qobuz when outside my home in Roon?
  • Is there anyway to disable Arc? I don’t want any ports open to my home network.

=====

And this part below is totally unrelated to my questions - but I wanted to share.
Not sure why. Maybe as I’ve been hearing and reading about Roon for years - so wanted to share some thoughts. Or maybe to give thanks to the developers/group behind it:

  • UI goes without saying is incredible. Its like flicking through a tuned music magazine.
  • I can’t get over clicking the signal path icon to see it all clearly explained. In all honesty I can’t really do any A/B tests, but I like the feeling that aspect is being respected (I don’t need to stress about).
  • Also on the above - its very likely the feeling of being Roon - but somehow it just sounds different. I don’t know. I want to keep playing music. Which is the goal right. If its the same after 2 weeks you got me.
  • Another aspect that had me really impressed was how anything related to music is clickable. For example I was checking out a 4hero album. Firstly I had never seen a photo of the duo - Roon gave it clearly. But then I could easily discover songs each of them had made.
    Same with a listen to Sade, discovered an album by Sweetback. Never heard of them before.
  • Back to UI, being able to flick through artist, cover art, clearly and a respectable size. Was listening to Thee Sacred Souls - being able to see the artwork close up, saw the Daptone label logo. Another thing to explore.

I swear the only negative is the price - and I also need a Qobuz subscription. So part of me feels why not spend that on physical music. But that’s another thought process for another day.

Nice one Roon!

Welcome to the Roon community, @c_h_1.

Because Roon staff don’t read this category, I am moving this over to Feedback. However, I’ll reply to your first three points separately, so that discussion may continue in Roon Software Discussion.
