Description Of Issue

I’ve been using Roon for a while now, with the Core on my Linux-based media server and interact with it through my Macbook Pro. The Core continues to work fine (see status above), but the Roon app on the Mac no longer starts up.

Here is the diagnostic message on the Mac (10.15.6):

Aug 6 15:47:56 Macintosh-2[1] (com.roon.Roon.31916[1159]): Service exited with abnormal code: 1

I re-downloaded the Mac OS roon app and re-installed, but I get the same problem.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I also did the recent Catalina upgrade and mine is working OK. Did you power down everything, close and reopen the Roon program and try to light it off that way.

Make sure the accept remotes button is toggled at the top of the page (screenshot).

Leave it to Apple to screw up a perfect running piece of software.

I saw something in the Roon community forums for launching the room app on Mac OS with the command line and a switch for console messages, so I tried it:

[Macintosh-2:~] michael% /Applications/ -colorconsole

And it launched OK!

I could then quit Roon and subsequently re-launch it with both Launchpad and its icon on the dock. (Both of those methods had previously failed to start up the app.)

Not sure how that fixed things, but everything looks OK right now.
