Issue: I used to be able to play Roon thru Marantz using remote on iPhone, even if the system was off when I started. I recently added Chromecast Audio to Marantz. Now Roon only works if played through Chromecast Audio or Google Home. Even though Marantz still shows up as a zone and looks like it’s playing a song, nothing comes through on Marantz.
Could you please try outputting to the Marantz via Airplay and let me know the exact local time + date + track you attempt to do this and let me know here?
Thanks for the timestamp @Bob_Isman. I’ve activated diagnostics mode on your Core and what this action does is automatically upload a log set to our servers. I can confirm that the report has been received and I have requested the technical team to review it for further clues. Once I have more info, we will reach out once more, appreciate your patience here!
We’re investigating this issue but struggling to reproduce it in our QA lab. It would be helpful if you could try AirPlay playback using a different Roon Core to help deduce what is going on here.
Open Roon on the other PC
Roon Settings -> General
Disconnect
On the “Choose your Core” screen, press “Use this PC”
If asked to Unauthorize, you can go ahead and do so. You are limited to one active Roon Core at a time but you are free to switch between them as often as you’d like.
Verify if the same behavior occurs on the different PC
Same behavior occurs. I’m wondering if it’s the Marantz itself that’s the problem, as I can’t use Airplay to play tunes in my iPhone. When the Airplay symbol comes up and I try to play from phone, i get message that it’s unable to connect to Marantz.
You’re referring to this aspect outside of the Roon app and on the native iOS itself, correct? If you are having issue starting Airplay outside of Roon, this would suggest there’s an issue with the Marantz itself and you should reach out to Marantz support for further assistance.
