Hi @Ramiz_Saei ,

Thanks for reaching out. Just to clarify here, was this after a Roon update or a Windows update that you experienced this behavior? I tried to enable diagnostics for your account, but it doesn’t look like your Roon server has been online for quite some time. Can you please use these instructions to access and upload your logs to the below link, and let us know once uploaded?

Hi Noris,
Thanks for responding, this was right after a Roon update. How do I get the log?
Where is it located? it has not been working since then everything is disconnected.
Last year I got identical issues with almost the same time frame: May.
I got instructions to uninstall Roon and reinstall and use the backup to resume the music.

I’m having same problem. Using Roon on macOS and iOS. Switched core from a nuc to a new nucleus one. Did most recent update. Roon won’t connect and play since. I made a topic for support but I can’t find it. I’m not a terribly savvy computer guy, and having purchased a lifetime Roon membership, frankly expect something better from support than a group chat. I have followed all the instructions endlessly. Have rebooted and restored software. Totally unworkable.

Hey @Ramiz_Saei,

Thanks for the update! Let’s see if refreshing your Roon Server database may help -

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Here is the process outlined from a Windows machine:

All Roon_old on Windows

@Jason_Green1 - sorry to hear about your issues! We’re not seeing any new support ticket created from you, for us to be able to better assist you, can we kindly ask that you resubmit a proper support ticket by filling out the questionnaire using the below link? Please select the option that best matches your specific issue type instead of simply selecting “other”, as this form was created to help diagnose issues while gathering information and it will allow the support team to be able to best assist with your specific issue type. Hi Jason,
I agree with you, I have perpetual subscription too and perpetual problems with updates :frowning:
Finally I got a response from: benjaminRoon Staff: Technical Support. Follow his lead to reinstall Roon, create a backup before you start. I am gonna do it shortly.
good luck

Hi Benjamin, I wanted to report back to you that it is now working. thank you!
Is there a way to skip or reject Roon updates forever? Windows update do not like Roon updates and vice versa!
I have a friend that has turned off windows updates forever and has never had issues like mine!
this one took a month to fix, but finally thanks to you it is solved.
Regards,
Ramiz

Hi @Ramiz_Saei,

Thanks for letting us know that that worked.

If you go to SettingsAbout in Roon and click the gear icon next to your server, you’ll see an option to set updates to “Ask before downloading any updates.” This ensures updates will only be installed with your permission.

That said, just a heads-up — if you run into an issue in the future, one of the first things we’ll ask is that you update to the latest version. While we understand that your experience with updates may not have been ideal, they often include important bug fixes and stability improvements that can help resolve issues.
