Description of Issue

Perhaps I misunderstand, but…
An album isn’t identified by Roon (Crosby, Stills & Nash box set “CSN”)
It has things like previously unreleased, and that info is in the itunes track names and the file names.
So I want roon to show me the file names as track names instead of its info.
I got to the “…” menu, select metadata preference, select “set preference of tracks of 1 album” to “prefer file”

But the track names don’t change.
In itunes I have:

and in Roon I have

How do I get roon to show me the extra details on the tracks?
Thanks,
Peter

To verify what Roon is showing you, look at the files with a tag editor like MP3tag and check the file’s actual metadata for track title.

Try setting prefer name as well, it takes 2 setting changes

I’m not at my pc to give you a pic

Also don’t forget an album straight and a disc in a set that appears to be the same album may not ID the same

Leave the box as is and Roon may well ID it

Sorry I don’t see “prefer name” anywhere?

mp3tag seems to show the information in the file name as well as in the track metadata…
