Describe the issue

Roon won't import my M3U playlists from my NAS. All my music is in the folder //192.168.1.151/Music. (Synology NAS). Roon scans this folder and all the subfolders completely fine.

However I have an M3U playlist in the root /Music folder in the following format as suggested in a support forum:

../Bernstein Serenade - Kremer/1. Phaedrus - Pausanias- Lento - Allegro marcato.mp3
../Bernstein Serenade - Kremer/2. Aristophanes- Allegretto.mp3

And this playlist never shows up in Roon.

I am running ROCK on a NUC as my Roon server if that matters.

Describe your network setup

Synology NAS; Verizon Router; Music managed MediaMonkey2024 on a Windows 11 PC; Roon running on a NUC running ROCK; all of the above hardwired into my home network; SMB is permissioned on the NAS (I am pretty sure); I am mostly controlling Roon via an iPad or an Android phone

The tracks need to be in your watched folder. If your playlist file is in the root of your watched folder and the paths inside start with .. we’re leaving the watched folder.

grafik

I changed it to a single dot. Still not discovered by Roon (I did a forced rescan, if there’s anything else I need to do please let me know.)

Follow the guide and things should work:

Note: If everything seems right on the technical side, make sure the playlist isn’t just a listing of all the files in a folder – these will not import (as documented).
